[VCF Automation 업그레이드시 명확하게 나오지 않는 원인 찾는 방법]

1. VMSP (Management Service) VIP 로그인

- 로그인 계정 : vmware-system-user

- sudo 전환 : sudo su (or su -)

 

2. VMSP 루트 권한 가진 상태에서 VCFA 9.1 SSH 접속

- 기존 VCF Automation 9.0.1 Appliance VM을 VM폴더를 새로 생성해서 옮겼더니 업그레이드 시 해당 디렉터리를 찾지 못해서 발생된 것으로 짐작된다 (유사 이슈로 케이스 보고된바 있음..)

- 해당 이슈를 트러블슈팅하기보다는 새로 배포하는 방향으로 진행하였다.

 

[VCF 9.1 환경에서 기존 VCF Automation (9.0.X or 9.1) 제거 방법]

- 위와 같이 업그레이드에 실패하거나, VCF Ops-Fleet Service를 통해 VCF Automation 9.1 배포에 실패한다면 아래 Broadcom KB에 나온 VCF Ops/Fleet/SDDC Manager Cleanup Script를 통해 깔끔히 지우는 방법을 추천한다.

- VCF Automation 뿐 아니라 VCF Ops/Fleet/SDDC Manager에 등록된 Add-on (sso/logs/networks 등등)도 깔끔히 삭제할 수 있게 만들어놓은 python script 이다.

Scripted components cleanup from VCF Operations 9.1

 

1. 작업 절차

- 스크립트는 조회 / 삭제 두가지 기능을 제공한다.

1) 스크립트를 다운로드 하여 python 실행 가능 폴더 (fleet/sddcmanager로 접속 가능한 리눅스 서버 혹은 임시로 fleet service 서버)에 옮겨 놓는다

2) 먼저 조회 스크립트를 돌려서 VMSP에 admin 계정으로 접속한 후 삭제하고자 하는 객체가 있을 경우, <component-id>를 얻어낼 수 있다.

3) 얻어낸 <component-id>로 VMSP에 등록된 객체를 삭제한다.

4) VMSP 뿐만 아니라 SDDC Manager에서도 동일 방법으로 객체를 삭제해야 새로 깔끔히 배포가 가능하다.

 

 

 

2. OVA 기반 컴포넌트 삭제

- VCF 9.0.x 기반의 버전에서는 VCF Logs/SSO/NI/Automation 등을 OVA 기반으로 배포하였다.

이것도 위 스크립트 기반으로 조회 후 삭제할 수 있다.

- VCF 9.1에서 생성된, 혹은 9.1 업그레이드간 실패된 객체를 위 방법으로 조회 후 삭제한다.

- SDDC Manager Appliance에 OS 로그인계정인 'vcf' 계정으로 접속 후 'sudo su' 명령으로 루트 권한 이용해 아래의 작업을 추가로 수행한다.

- 위 과정이 정상적으로 수행되면, VCF Operations - Build - Lifecycle - VCF Management - Component - Add Component 탭에서 아래 스크린샷처럼 새롭게 VCF Automation을 배포하게끔 메뉴가 활성화 된다. 

 

- 절차에 따라 다시 배포해준다.

- 추가로 VCF Automation 배포 시, VCF Automation FQDN은 위에 지정한 IP 서브넷 내 내 위치해도 관계 없지만,

VCF Automation을 위해 생성되는 'VCF service runtime FQDN'은 위에서 지정한 IP 서브넷 외부의 별도의 IP로 FQDN이 지정되어야만 정상 배포 된다. (이러한 이유로 만약 Fail 되면 Retry 옵션은 없고 새롭게 배포를 수행하면 된다.)

- 예를 들어, 본 환경에서는 192.168.111.144/29를 지정해서 144-151 까지는 블록된 IP라 VCF Service Runtime FQDN은 빈 IP인 192.168.111.143 = kr-auto9-vsp.rangers.lab을 별도로 생성하여 부여하였다.
